About us

I never got the chance to explore photography while I worked as a farmer and I also had another interest that took up all my time, starting in 1986: Computers. I have spent a good portion of my adult life programming computers.

I have been living abroad since 1996, first 3 years in Denmark, from 1996 to 1999 and then in San Antonio, Texas, from 1999. I have been programming professionally since 1994. In Denmark I worked for Allerup EDB in Roskilde for 2 years on various projects. Since I moved to the US I have worked on projects for small and big companies but mostly worked on tools for other developers. Visit Icetips Software's website for more information.

On March 4th, 2000 I married my lovely wife, Susan Pichotta from San Antonio, Texas. She has also had interests in photography, but hasn't pursued it. She has been very supportive of my camera ventures and I am very grateful for that:)

In 2002 we bought our first digital camera. It was a Sony Cybershot, 2 megapixels camera. We took over 5000 photos with it until January 2005 when I bought a Sony DSC-P73 4 megapixel camera. That camera was not as good as the old one, the photos were not as clear, but for a cheap camera it was not bad. In July 2005 I bought a Canon EOS 350XT Digital Rebel 8 megapixels SLR camera. It is a very good camera and by Christmas 2005 I had taken over 3000 photos with it. I have found that I'm quick in picking up the techniques and enjoy it immensely.
